Perfection or Joy : choose wisely.

I always struggle with trying to achieve perfection. That can make me ambitious and resourceful. However, now I feel no one perfect then why I always run behind perfection. In College days my friends use to call me miss perfect. Striving to be perfect is not only exhausting, it opens you up to an all-or-nothing attitude. I used to think, if I can’t be perfect, then I won’t do it.

Many of us spend our whole lives in that pursuit of perfection, and therefore, we often suffer unnecessarily.

Many people spend their lives striving for perfection; perfection in the way they look, where they work, and their relationships. Perfection is as elusive as silence. You can never quite reach perfection; and just when you think, you’ve achieved it; Something shifts, and it’s lost. It’s even difficult to describe true perfection. There is no perfect Job, no perfect boss sometimes no perfect family. If anything matters in this life that is only Joy and happiness.

The study measured three types of perfectionism : Self-oriented, Socially prescribed and Other-oriented.

When things don’t happen the way, you want, you start denying reality itself. So getting obsessed to do things done in your way in the perfect order leads to trouble. The best thing is that let’s not run behind pursuits of perfection let’s run behind pursuits of happiness, and everything will fall in place automatically.

Rather than striving to be perfect, whatever ‘perfect’ may be, strives to be the best version of yourself. Perfection can only be achieved by healthy mind. It takes practice to silence the perfect gremlins. However, over time, you will find that it gets easier. That’s how you let go of perfection and find joy.

Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference. ~Winston Churchill I believe that life is beautiful, one should enjoy it and stay positive. This blog is about being positive and curious about mystery of mankind. Someone truly said expand your thoughts and you will enlarge your world. Follow this blog to see positive side of every aspect. It's about encouraging people to try out new pattern of thinking. Little about myself, With Ten years of experience as Television Producer, I started my career as an independent documentary filmmaker...I worked in television industry for decade....took break from industry when I delivered baby in 2015. One fine day I thought to write letter to my husband in which I wrote him how I see life....in the evening when he came home and instead of discussing letter part he asked me to start writing...as he thought I can express myself more in writing rather then as person. I thought blogging is out of box idea... The truth is, cheesy as it sounds, the internet has changed our lives. And now I can share my thoughts with whole world :)

  2. So true! I am learning Spanish and I decided that for this initial period I am going to give myself absolute total license to make a zillion mistakes — as my son did when he was a baby. Just to make sounds for the pleasure of making sounds. To make up word combos just because I can. With little to no worry about being perfect. It has been ever so much fun!

  3. interesting post, and something I always reflect on. from my experience, striving to be perfect is good, because it can only make us be the best version of ourselves, and bring contentment, joy and satisfaction esch moment we attempt to be perfect.

however I’ve observed that in many instances, if not all, we can never be “perfectly perfect” because whenever we look back at the perfection we tried to achieve on a certain date, we’ll observe that there was always a way we could have made that perfection better than the level we left it.

if all the intelligent people, scientists, poets, archeologists, etc, in ages past were perfect, then we wouldn’t be left with astonishing ideas to discover today because everything would have been achieved in a state of perfection, and nothing new would be able to be discovered. so I look at bits of imperfection, or incomplete perfection, as a gift of God that makes mankind continuously strive for perfection until the end of time.

    1. Very true indeed and very well said. Little bit of imperfection always helps us to grow. And one should learn to enjoy every moment of life then running behind perfect moment. Nothing is perfect in this world. We all have some flaws. Thank-you for Visiting.🙏🏻😇💖

  6. You said it so well, Anjali. Perfectionism was, for me, one of my greatest faults. ❤
Over the past few weeks I have been consciously trying to leave 'little' things in a less perfectionistic fashion. Such as not having to have everything about me 'perfect'. Like – my make-up – I can leave my clothes on my bed a little longer before putting them away – staying in my pyjamas a little longer in the mornings… Just little things, but, it is so much more relaxing! 🙂

    1. I agree with you; I was exactly like you but after Kyaraa born, and I left corporate world, I became little relaxed and carefree. Then I realised that because of perfection in every moment, I am forgetting my joy. However, now I try to enjoy my every moment rather than creating a perfect world around me. So relax and enjoy every moment of life. Thank you so much for Visiting 💖😇🙏🏻

  7. Absolutely.. correct you are Anjali.. perfection is a mirage.. it keeps us running after it, whereas in the end, it steals away our mental peace, hence, we are left with dissatisfaction only.. nothing else.. a profound share.. must say.. keep motivating the world with such shares dear.. 😇👌🏼

  9. We should put our best efforts in every thing we do and should be content with the outcome. Simply running for perfection will lead us nowhere. Well penned.

  10. Strive to be a better version of yourself…..well said Anjali. While I myself am a kind of perfectionist, my daughter daughter keeps reiterating that there is beauty in imperfection too. So now I try not to aim for perfection in all that I do.
