These days Kyaraa is learning how to read. So, I introduced her a number of storybooks to go through from our library shelf, one of them she picked was Hansel and Gretel.

The Hansel and Gretel book is based on a true story (fairy tale). This story takes us back in the days when the great famine had struck Europe in the year 1314, Lots of mothers had abandoned their children. Scholars believe that these tragedies gave birth to the story of Hansel and Gretel. Hansel and Gretel is a story of two young children whose father was a poor woodcutter who barely managed to keep up with their livelihood..

Kyaraa here is reading the story from the book Hansel and Gretel.

Thank you for watching

          1. I know it’s been hard specially with young kids, my little one needs to be engaged all the time. It’s exhausting but fingers crossed dark clouds will eventually disappear.

    1. Yes it’s little dark fairy-tale. But I guess in today’s time and even in good old days it’s important to teach kids that in this world, all kinds of human exist. So, we should be smart enough to get escape from evil ones. Childhood memories are always precious Tanja. Thank you.

        1. Every kid have different aptitude, I think we should encourage what’s inbuilt or in what kids show interest. May be oldest one be intresting in something else that her parents or teachers can discover. Thank you dear Lisa for sharing your thoughts.πŸ™β™₯οΈπŸ˜‡

          1. Thanks so much. The oldest is 15 & has some learning disabilities, dyslexia, and a form of Aspergers. She is a sweet girl. I think her teachers are just pushing her through. I wished I could get her & home school her but we live 3 1/2 hours away.

            1. Oh, I guess teachers should not push her. Every child is different. Sometimes these type of kids do wonders in life. They need special attention that’s it. Please ask her parents to just keep faith in her. Thank you for Sharing. I understand as grandmother you want to help her. But as you stay far her parents can help her and they should keep faith in her to boost her confidence. When I was little, I had faced similar kind of trouble for many years but in my 20’s I worked at really good position in channel like CNBC TV 18 and I proved that it’s ok if I was not as bright as other kids were, Faith and belief from parents matter’s a lot.

    1. She told me she liked the way Hansel and Gretel were smart kids and came out of odd situation due to tricky mind. Kyaraa is like me in every story she try to find out something positive…that helps a lot to me. Thank you for asking this question. πŸ˜‡β™₯️
